How e-cigarettes changed my life

As a notorious smoker, you probably recognize several of the issues I was struggling with in my previous life as a hard core chain smoker. I work as a computer consultant, which often means long business hours, lots of overtime and lonely nights at the office, with just me and my beloved Paint Shop Pro 10. I’m not proud to say that I smoked constantly: I smoked three packets a day, which is approx 60 cigarettes. It finally got so bad that my doctor gave me the ultimatum: Stop smoking or die before you become 70 (I was 59 at that time). I was desperate to give up smoking, but at the same time I was clinging to what I called “my best friend”, the cigarettes. “How was I supposed to live without them“, to paraphrase Michael Bolton. Addicted to nicotine Let’s face it: I’m chemically addicted to nicotine. I have probably been addicted since I started smoking, when I was 14 years old. There’s nothing to do about this now. Can’t change it. Honestly, because of my addiction, I was convinced that I was going to die. Not because of cancer or any other fatal disease, but because of COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. How I quit smoking in one day The headline in this blog post gives it away. Kinda. One day in 2011 I discovered e-cigarettes. My life changed forever. I realized that my e-cigarettes had to contain nicotine, and this “ingredient” led to my immediate “good bye” to traditional, tobacco-based cigarettes. My own e-cigarette web site I have been “smoking” (the technical term is “vaping”) e-cigarettes for five years now. I have even set up my own e-cigarette guide, which you are able to visit here. It’s in Norwegian, because, well, I come from Norway. Feel free to browse my e-cigarette web site and please contact me here if you have questions or comments....
